First test flight successfully landed at Van Don Airport

On the morning of July 11, the first flight landed safely at Van Don International Airport (Van Don Airport), starting the flight testing at the airport and marking a new milestone in the construction of the airport. On request of the client (SUN GROUP) NACO, part of Royal HaskoningDHV, seconded an on-site team for a year to Van Don island to support project management and construction supervision and to provide technical and operational advice including staffing and training.

Van Don Airport is expected to be officially put into operation in December 2018, with the ability to welcome about 7,000 passengers per day. This new international airport with a 3.6 km long and 45 m wide runway will be capable of handling large, modern passenger and cargo aircraft. Equipped with the most state of the art technology, ensuring the safety of aircraft landing in all weather conditions.
